An aerial view of Massanoga, the sawmill town built by my grandfather, Wallace Irl Johnston for the Sawyer Stoll Lumber Company. My Grandfather was the American company's man in Canada, and in addition to building and managing the lumber operations in Massanoga, he also built a planing mill in Kaladar, and other lumber operations in Calabogie, The Pine Camp in Matawachan, and a mill in Quebec. Massanoga no longer exists,but for the ruins of a chimney.
